About This Blog

I once had a professor in college that had been a head of one of the subsidiaries for RJR.  He required us to bring in the Wallstreet Journal to class (Strategic Planning) and have several articles about what was happening in the marketplace (i.e. a company cutting jobs, or new regulations in a certain industry), what it meant to those companies, and how it was going to effect the company, community, and others that were  involved with business dealings and try and predict what the future may hold for all involved. (Much BS’ing on my part) We would have to stand up, read our article and explain what it meant. (My nerve-racking and embarassing public speaking introduction) Then we would discuss and debate our opinions as a class.

I have never stopped reading articles and trying to figure out how various news would play out for those involved.  To this day I still do this, though it is more focused on real estate, and I have added meeting and speaking with professionals (economists), to keep a good understanding of what is going on in the world around me.

Because Hawaii is isolated in the middle of the Pacific Ocean, and we have a large pool of interested real estate owners from far off locations (Asia, Mainland US), I always knew clients had a hard time staying up on the real estate and economic market here in Hawaii.  THE most common question is, “How is the real estate market there?” We are isolated, not only in terms of geographic location, but also by the access to local information or at least by the means of finding the local information.

When I first entered the real estate industry in Hawaii, I struggled trying to figure out a way with which to be able to deliver meaningful and relevant information to my clients in a timely fashion that could help them understand and stay informed on the local marketplace.  I used to read an article, cut it out, scan it and email it off, but it was way too time-consuming and the quality wasn’t very good.  I even tried scanning items and having my web-developer put them on my site, but that was too costly.

Now, luckily, we have Weblogs, or Blogs.  This creation has now allowed me to be able to do what I have wanted to do for a long time: Keep you as informed as possible on the events that shape the marketplace and allow you to follow the market so when the time comes for you to buy or sell real estate on Oahu, you can make the most informed decision (and also choose me as your Realtor of choice!).  You know your wants and needs better than anyone else, so the least I can do is to provide you with the information so you can determine your path to success.

Information on the marketplace here in Oahu is scattered amongst various resources and publications.  Many of which are not known or not accessable to those in the public.  My blog here allows me to bring all of those resources together in one place for you to be able to review and comment on.  I have invited various authors, (i.e. lenders, etc) to post relevant information from their industry that may be able to helpful to you as well.

This blog should be used as a resource guide, however, some of the posts are my opinions and you may not agree with them.  That is fine, but at least you have the resources to be able to form your own opinion, make the best and right decision, and ultimately, save you some time and money.   Thanks for visiting, comment away, and CALL ME to assist you with all your real estate needs.  I look forward to helping you.
